Cloth Diapers

Child Passenger Safety

Our children do not come with manuals.  No step-by-step instructions.  No list of required tools, or diagrams to tell you how things should look along the way.  Parenting books and self-help manuals don't agree on what's best, and the "rules" change constantly as we learn new things.  Everything you thought you knew a few years ago - and everything your mother taught you - may not agree with current studies and discoveries.  It can be very confusing for any parent, and we want to help.  This is only a small portion of the information we wish to share with you.  If you don't see what you want here, contact us, and we will try to find the information you seek, in a way that we can help ALL our Moms!

Here is a brief explanation of some of the things we strive to teach our Moms.

Did you know that most people think they have their children in the right car seat... but do not?  Did you know that more than 70 percent of car seats are improperly installed?  Did you know that car seats have an expiration date?  Do you how to tell if your child old enough to use an adult seat belt alone?

We want you to know the facts, and be able to properly protect your child in the even of an accident.
With the help of Certified Passenger Safety Technician Shay Broussard, Amy's Closet will do everything we can to ensure you know better, because when you know better, you do better.

Cloth diapers?  Isn't that a bit old fashioned?  I mean, my mom didn't even use cloth diapers on my sister!  Then there's the whole Yuk! factor, and who wants to put poop covered anything in the washing machine!  Disposables are much more simple, why would I want to drag stacks of cloth around town and fold diapers in public restrooms?

Cloth diapers aren't what they used to be.  Show a modern cloth diaper to your mother, and she probably won't recognize it at all!  Not only is it NOT old fashioned, it's also a great way to be fashionable Mom and save money, too!  We will teach you the ins and outs of cloth, where you can find them, and even introduce you to the creator of Diapers by Chris - a mother who creates some very cute cloth to sell in the area!

Crafts are not just fun for parents and children, they're also good opportunities for bonding, and ways to make and give things that are not only inexpensive, but fun to create!  It's also a great way to give or to display a little bit of yourself - straight from the heart!

In addition to car seat safety, we want to introduce you to basic child safety by hosting instructional classes that will help your child understand  things like what to do in case of fire, or when it's important to call 9-1-1.  We'd love to share any concerns you have, find and share the answers with all of our Moms, and offer any insights you have to offer.  We want all of our Moms to take part in making it a safer world for our children!
